Webisode#1 Buckets O' Love!!!

 Things you will need: 

1 Large pitcher of water

1 Bucket of water

1 Cup for each child

Towels (Just in case)

Watch Webisode#1

Review the webisode with the following questions:

     How many waterfalls make up Niagara Falls?

     What are the names of the falls?

     How did the Horseshoe Falls get its name?

     How much water flows over the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls per second?

     How much water flows over the Horseshoe Falls per second?

Do this part in your bathtub, kitchen sink, outside or someplace where you can contain the water.

Hand out the cups to the children.  As you do, say, "Let's imagine that this cup represents your "Love-Tank."  We all have a "love-tank." How full it is indicates how loved we feel.  Use this pitcher of water and fill your cup to the level that shows how full your love-tank is."

Ask the children to share why they filled their cups as full as they did.

Read John 3:16

Now, ask the children to fill their cup to the level that represents how much they think God loves them.  Ask them to explain the fullness of their cup.

Read Psalm 23:5

Say, "David wrote this psalm.  How full do you think his cup was?"

Read John 1:3

Say, "The word "Lavished" means: to give in great amounts or without limit.  Do you remember how many gallons of water flowed over the Horseshoe Falls per second?  600,000 gallons per second.  You could say that the rocks below the Horseshoe Falls are lavished with water.  This is a picture of 1 John 3:1 and how much God loves us."

Take a cup and the bucket of water.  Dump the bucket of water into the cup until the bucket is empty.  Water will fill the cup and overflow in abundance. (If you are using a sink or bathtub, put the cup under the faucet then let the faucet run on full.  The water will fill the cup then continue to overflow.)

Say, "How great is the love that God has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God.  And that is what we are!  It's like standing under the Horseshoe Falls and letting the water wash over you.  God wants to continually fill our love-tanks so much that we cannot contain it, but have to share it with everyone around us.  You think about that the next time you turn on your faucet."
